Walmart Inc., a leader in the global retail industry, is seeking a seasoned Principal Software Engineer for our Backend teams. In this role, you will be pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining the backend systems that are crucial to our operations, impacting millions of customers worldwide. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to innovate and optimize our technology solutions, ensuring scalability and efficiency across our vast network of operations. Develop scalable and efficient backend systems and solutions that support Walmart's global operations. Lead, mentor, and build high-performing backend development teams. Collaborate with system architects, product managers, and other stakeholders to define system architecture and design. Drive continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes. Ensure system reliability, security, and performance. Stay abreast of and incorporate best practices and innovations in technology. Proficient in backend languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js Strong understanding of database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, and distributed databases like Cassandra Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and other containerization technologies Understanding of RESTful API design Experience with microservices architecture Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified in Java, Python, or Node.js is a plus AWS Certified Solutions Architect or other cloud certification Certification in database management and security
