No cost e Care visits Employer-provided mental health services for employees and eligible family members Retirement with employer match up to 5% Tuition discounts and reimbursement available for continuing your education Cox Health Fitness Center and Child Care discounts Onsite delivery for Cox Health Pharmacies and 1906 Employee Store Job Summary An orthopedic technician is an EMCT that has additional training specifically in orthopedic injury stabilization, traction, and splinting/casting.This individual is responsible for assembly of traction devices, preparing for procedures by gathering of all necessary supplies and equipment, and assisting the provider with various orthopedic procedures.This includes the education of the proper and safe application to other ED staff.This employee will also be responsible for inventory management of orthopedic supplies.Additionally, this individual will be required to document procedure in the EMR.Job Requirements Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred: Associates Degree in a Related Field Experience Required: 6 months as Emergency Medical Care Technician (EMCT) Skills Understanding of medical terminology.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrates competency in proper use of computer software, office equipment and other specialized equipment (i.e.: hand held scanners).Demonstrates timeliness, courtesy, sincerity and patience when dealing with internal and external customers.Ability to multitask and handle high stress situations.Ability to work effectively as a team member Effective at time management, organizing and planning.Licensure/Certification/Registration Required: BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire
