Alice L. Walton School of Medicine (AWSOM) is seeking
experienced, motivated, and dedicated leaders and educators to
participate in the design and delivery of an innovative four-year
medical school curriculum that engages medical students in active

Application Reader Alice L. Walton School of Medicine (AWSOM) is
seeking experienced, motivated, and dedicated leaders and educators
to participate in the design and delivery of an innovative
four-year medical school curriculum that engages medical students
in active and novel learning. About The Position The Admissions
Application Reader is part of a screening group that holistically
reviews application materials and provides recommendations based on
their review. Readers will review various application materials,
carefully evaluate academic preparation, and assess an applicant's
experiences using a screening template. The Admissions Application
Readers are seasonal positions and may be either contract or
temporary part time, used to review applications for approximately
six months but could extend beyond that period based on the volume
of applications and departmental needs. Readers are currently
needed from October 2024 through March 2025. Applications reviews
are conducted online, allowing flexible work hours. Work will be
expected to be completed remotely. We are building a workplace and

are actively supported. Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Specific to the Position:
- Carefully review and make evaluations on application files,
averaging two per hour.
- Complete between 20-40 application reviews per week. Not to
exceed 50 applications within a given week.
- Utilizing an online portal, read and evaluate qualifications of
prospective students utilizing established standards and
guidelines.
- Summarize screening observations with notes in an online portal
and enter clear notes to support recommendations.
- Attend virtual training session, and regularly scheduled
virtual meetings to stay abreast of overall application review
process and establish continuity between application readers.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training within the medical
field
- Strong time management skills
- Strong reading/writing skills
- Strong analytical and evaluation skills
- Must exhibit excellent interpersonal skills in a diverse
environment
- Ability to demonstrate a professional and confidential approach
to the review process
- Computer literacy and access to the internet are required.
Preferred Experience
- Background in higher education, secondary school teaching,
admissions, or healthcare profession.
- Experience screening and evaluating higher education

requirements related to this role About Us! Founded in 2021 by
philanthropist Alice Walton, the School of Medicine will offer a
medical degree-granting program that builds on conventional
medicine with an inclusive, compassionate, and whole health
approach. The School of Medicine embraces self-care to empower
students to care for their patients and themselves and helps them
rise to the health challenges of the 21st century with a focus on
mental, physical, social, and emotional health. The School will
have an attached clinic for training in these concepts. Currently,
the School of Medicine seeks to be a national medical school with
the goal of welcoming its inaugural class in 2025, pending
programmatic and institutional accreditation. Construction of the
154,000 square-foot building has begun with the goal of completing
and welcoming the first class in Fall 2025, pending accreditation.
AWSOM will be located east of Crystal Bridges Museum of American
Art in Bentonville, Arkansas. What We Seek We are building a cadre
