Job Description:
The Sales Lead is a role model Bear Builder that has been given
the additional responsibilities as a Leader on Duty on designated
shifts. During those times Sales Leads will be in charge of the
total operation of the store that includes but is not limited to
leading a team of associates, modeling Experience First -
behaviors, and enhancing the Guest's experience while achieving the
store sales goals. Their partnership with the management team will
enable them to gain the additional knowledge and skills required
for career advancement. When not designated as the Leader on Duty,
Sales Leads will perform the role of a Bear
Builder.Responsibilities When Designated as the Leader on
Duty:Leads a team of associates to consistently model the
Experience First standards and behaviorsCommunicates clear
expectations and holds the store team and self accountable for
achieving all brand, performance and behavior standardsEnergizes
associates to ensure proper coverage, exceptional Guest service,
completion of daily tasks and adherence to company
standardsDelegates to associate team effectivelyMaintains a
positive and motivational style in all communication and actions to
promote productivity and ownershipDrives associate engagement by
recognizing and rewarding employees for outstanding
performanceBuilds a highly satisfied and loyal customer base
through engagement, conversion and capturing Guest information for
the loyalty programAudits daily punches to ensure accuracy and
compliance with BABW payroll and timekeeping policies and
proceduresAdheres to and enforces all BABW store security and cash
management policies and proceduresEnsures store is always Grand
Opening ready by following opening and closing proceduresOperates
and maintains all IT systems in accordance with policies and
proceduresUses good judgment and partners with his/her Chief
Workshop Manager to make necessary decisions within the company's
guidelinesInsures compliance with all company policies and
procedures as well as federal, state, local and provincial
laws.Communicates any Guest service and/or and associate issues to
the Chief Workshop Manager in a timely fashion and collaborates on
resolution of all issuesResponsibilities as a Bear Builder:Uses the
Make Behaviors and Experience First - station standards to provide
a personalized, enjoyable and memorable experience for Guests of
all agesInvites potential Guests to come in and learn about our
storePromptly welcomes and greets all Guests with a smileEngages
Guests in conversation through open-ended questions and assesses
reason for visit. Utilizes this information to help Guests find the
perfect product and convert those "just looking" into a saleInforms
Guests of all current promotions and points out our newest
productExplains the Build-A-Bear Workshop process and assists
Guests in choosing, stuffing, dressing, naming, and taking home
(purchasing) a new furry friendContributes to total store results
by recommending items to maximize sales and enhance the Guest's
experienceInsures Guests are aware that we offer parties for all
ages and all occasionsSupports our company party commitments by
delivering a great party experienceIs aware of workshop sales
goals, Guest satisfaction expectations, and promotional
objectivesMaintains visual and housekeeping standards to create the
brand experience unique to Build-A-Bear WorkshopFollows all company
policies and procedures including but not limited to Cash
Management, Attendance, and Store SecurityAll other tasks as may be
assigned by store managementQualifications:Ideal candidate is a
BABW associate with a minimum of one + years of experience
providing exceptional Guest service in the workshopAvailable for a
flexible schedule that meets the needs of the businessMinimum of
high school diploma or GED equivalent. College degree a plusIs
ambitious and success oriented.Outstanding leadership and selling
skillsModels personal and professional integrityExcellent
interpersonal communications skills, including verbal and written
communicationOrganized and planful; pays attention to detailsIs
flexible and adaptable in a fast paced work environmentFosters a
high energy environment and demonstrates an appreciation for
