Health Aide, you have the ability to make a difference in the lives
of others. In this position, you are responsible for providing
personal care and designated health related services designed to
maintain the client’s physical and emotional well-being in our
Assisted Living facility. Join our dedicated team of caring
Assist the client with personal cares which may include all or
some of the following: shampooing of hair, assist with
showering/whirlpool, application of lotions, fingernail and foot
cares if instructed to do so, oral cares, dressing, redirection of
a confused client, and other cares as assigned.
Assist in the use of adaptive devices such as hearing aides and
Assist each client to reach and maintain the highest level of
performance and independence, allowing for choices that promote
safety and well-being and foster self-help.
Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per
individualized care plan after competency training and testing.
Observe client and monitor and report changes in physical and
emotional condition such as change in attitude, loss of appetite,
loss of endurance, increase in pain and weight, changes etc.
Assistance with self-administration of medication and/or
medication administration as delegated by RN.
Prepare meals as directed following special meal plans if
Take and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse and
respiration as instructed.
Report changes and concerns to RN.
Follows cleaning schedule per shift worked.
Lead client activities as scheduled and assigned.
Employees assigned to the Memory Care Units must know the
location of all Memory Care tenants at all times.
Perform all duties in a manner that is consistent with quality
standards, infection control,and safety measures, which includes
using Standard Precautions, at all times.
Participate in in-service programs, mandatory training, and
attend meetings in the interest of improving skills, acquiring
knowledge, and meeting state and federal regulations.
Remain current on tuberculosis screening.
Work as a team member and adapt to changes in work assignments
to meet resident and/or staffing needs.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions,
correspondence and documentation. Must be able to demonstrate
proficiency, accuracy and competency in assistance with medication
administration on a consistent basis.
On the State of Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.
Must be punctual.
Must be able to remain calm in difficult or unusual
Must be able to prioritize and organize work effectively and
Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations. Must be
compassionate and work with tact and ethical awareness.
Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
This position requires availability to work every other
weekend and holiday.
