millions globally. We're seeking a skilled Principal Software
Engineer, Backend, to lead our development teams in designing,
building, and optimizing our core backend systems that serve as the
backbone for our e-commerce and in-store operations. Located in our
Bentonville headquarters, our IT division is at the forefront of
innovation in retail technology, driving projects that leverage
massive datasets, integrate complex systems, and develop reliable,
scalable infrastructure. Lead backend development teams in the
design, development, and optimization of software for our
e-commerce and physical retail systems. Collaborate with other
engineers and departments to identify system needs, determine
solutions and integrate various systems smoothly. Ensure system
reliability, efficiency, and scalability, addressing complex
challenges in processing, operational excellence, and data
integration. Drive innovation in our backend processes, pushing
boundaries in scalable architecture and pioneering technologies.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, shaping the future leaders of
our IT division. Proficient in backend languages such as Java,
Python, or Ruby Strong understanding of database management and
cache mechanisms Experience with API design and service-oriented
architecture Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google
Cloud) Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous
deployment (CI/CD) systems Medical Insurance Dental Insurance
Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified in Java, Python or
equivalent backend technologies (preferred) Cloud certification
(AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Certified, Azure
Administrator Associate) Project management certifications such as
PMP or Agile certifications
