In this role, you will be responsible to plan and direct the human
relations functions at Bekaert's Rogers facility including employee
relations, employment, compensation and benefits, training and
development, communications, security, and safety compliance in
accordance with corporate policy and in ways that result in the
most effective attraction, retention, and development of qualified
personnel.
This position has direct HR responsibility for over 340 team
members. Direct supervision - 3: Human Resources Assistant, Payroll
Clerk, and Trainer - Plant Personnel: 335
The following position reports directly to the VP of Human
Resources North America with a dotted line to the VP of Rubber
Reinforcement (RR) North America - Location of Position: Rogers, AR
(On site)
General Description of Job Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and adapt HR policies and practices to support
the achievement of plant and corporate objectives while ensuring
compatibility with requirements of local state and federal
laws.
Provide the appropriate availability of personnel who possess the
skills, experience, and motivation necessary to enable the company
to achieve its objectives. Organize and carry out internal
promotions or transfers, and the recruitment and selection of new
employees on behalf of management, to fill vacancies with highly
competent and motivated people.
Review compensation and benefit studies in the local area to
develop, recommend, and implement equitable and competitive
compensation and benefit structures. Administer the job evaluation
program to relate each position to values that are equitable to
other positions in the company and to similar positions in the
competitive labor market. Administer all benefit programs in
accordance with the corporate practices and procedures to assure
conformity and cost objectives are met.
Develop, recommend, and to implement industrial relations practices
that will provide a positive work environment to maintain/improve
management/team member relations and continue plant operations in a
union-free environment.
Provide the plant with team member training and development
programs to develop existing workforce to their full potential for
obtaining established performance standards.
Provide services to the plant related to the security and the
personal well-being of the employees, such as safety programs and
procedures, protection and security, wellness services and OSHA
compliance.
Keep abreast and keep management informed as to current and
anticipated trends or problems, as well as legal requirements
regarding human resources matters. Assure compliance with federal,
state, local labor legislation such as ADA, FMLA, EPA, etc.
Provide guidance, recommendations, and support to plant management
in all human resources matters. Develop, recommend, and administer
human resources policies and programs for the plant that supports
the achievement of plant and corporate goals and objectives.
Support each plant function in effectively interpreting and
carrying out plant and corporate policies and programs. Ensure all
human resources programs, policies and decisions conform to
corporate standards to strengthen and protect the image of Bekaert
and its culture.
Assesses effectiveness of organization structure by studying
clarity of mission, strategy, objectives, priorities, division of
work, and accountabilities.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business or
related field.
SHRM SCP/CP, SPHR, or PHR Certification is a plus.
Minimum 7 years of Human Resource Management experience within a
manufacturing environment experienced in employment, safety,
compensation and benefits administration.
Highly motivated self-starter, who can effectively prioritize,
multi task and manage to accomplish objectives. Proven ability to
work independently and as part of a team.
Strong proficiency in the Microsoft suite programs, including Work,
PowerPoint and Excel.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Outstanding communication skills including written, oral,
interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Must possess the personality, enthusiasm and commitment to the
Bekaert Corporation core values.
This role is primarily working in an office environment; however,
must be open to spend time when necessary in a production and
related facilities of the plant. Within that context, can be
exposed to wet, humid conditions, airborne particles, various noise
levels, and extreme heat.
Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel
objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms; lift
and/or move up to 25 pounds.
