Provides direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient
populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general
aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Communicates
with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about
patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of surgical
equipment and inventory. Participates in performance improvement
activities. Assesses operating room for equipment functioning and
readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all
appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met. Monitors,
positions and assists patient during procedure.

Provides direct patient care in a personalized and compassionate
manner utilizing the Nursing Process:
A. Successfully demonstrates proficiency of basic skills,
equipment, and procedures, including unit specific skills.
B. Assists physicians and anesthesia personnel with examinations,
procedures and other processes related to patient care.
C. Safely administers medication by following the established
policies and procedures.
D. Uses the nursing process to identify care plan problems.

efficient delivery of services to the patient.

H. Monitor alarms are set appropriate to patient status and are

and/or clinical area condition to Charge Nurse. -- Calls physicians
as needed and has all required information available. -- Utilizes

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Licensure: Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of

Preferred Experience: Prefer one (1) year work experience in the
