Provides direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient
populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general
aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Communicates
with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about
patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of surgical
equipment and inventory. Participates in performance improvement
activities. Assesses operating room for equipment functioning and
readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all
appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met. Monitors,
positions and assists patient during procedure. Maintains
departmental equipment and supply needs in conjunction with
Supervisor and Materials Management. Coordinates with Surgery
Supervisor regarding staffing and education needs.

start (i.e.: H&P, Consents, Pre-op checklist, ext.)
Demonstrates competence in performing counts. Follows established

corrective actions when counts are incorrect. Effectively
communicates information to the physician.
Demonstrate knowledge of basic hemodynamic principles and
corrective actions. Understands set up, placement, function and
proper use of invasive lines (arterial lines, Swan-ganz, CVP,

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Licensure: Current Registered Nursing licensure in the State of
Experience: New graduates accepted
Certifications: Current BLS certification
Preferred Experience: Cardiac and/or Vascular surgery experience
Preferred Certifications: ACLS Certification preferred CNOR
Preferred Other: Additional languages preferred..
