The Grossing Tech assures appropriate specimen accessioning and labeling; performs gross description and dissection of specimens received; maintains the integrity of the specimen and patient identification; describes gross anatomic features of routine, uncomplicated surgical specimens, ensuring that all lesions, marking and sutures are mentioned; reviews clinical information provided to determine what pathologic examination is pertinent; and more!
