ID: 46895149 Shift: 06:15-19:45 Description: role of the Certified Nursing Assistant is to provide direct patient care and timely communicate the same, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, House Supervisor and/or other clinical staff in accordance with hospital policy. This may include assisting patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADL s), bathing, toileting, eating, ambulating and the taking of and recording of specific diagnostic equipment such as blood pressure machines, blood sugar devices, etc. under the direction of a licensed Registered Nurse.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: May include, but is not limited to the patients' personal hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves; assisting with travel to the bathroom; helping with showers and baths.Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary; ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; recording intake and output information.Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call lights and requests; reporting observations of the patient to assigned nurse.Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures.Protects organization's value by keeping patient information confidential.Serves and protects the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and CIHQ standards.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations; maintaining certifications.Enhances nursing department and hospital reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Job patients' personal hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves; assisting with travel to the bathroom; helping with showers and baths.Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary; ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; recording intake and output information.Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.QualificationsEducationHigh School diploma or G.E.D.License/CertificationCertified Nursing Assistant in the state of practice and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
