Position Summary:
The Director of Sales, Walmart Operations will be responsible for
the proactive management of sales and business development
opportunities for Regional and Local Walmart Operations to achieve
assigned goals and sales objectives. The Director will manage
relationships with all Key Stakeholders within the Walmart Regional
and Local Operations teams. The Director will also be responsible
for achieving a high level of execution on National and Regional
Plans involving distribution, program execution, void closure, new
items, pricing, in stock improvement, and other key initiatives.
The Director of Sales will serve on the Mass Channel Leadership
Team and will set an example of leadership and sense of urgency for
the entire team. Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with key
stakeholders and decision makers within the Walmart Operations
(RVPs and Market Managers) to ensure Walmart's and MEC business
strategies/goals are being achieved
- Establish a regular cadence and working routines for
communication and planning with key stakeholders within Walmart
Operations and MEC
- Develop, monitor, track, and report sales and execution results
on National and Regional programs to internal and external
stakeholders
- Coordinate business plans and executional objectives with all
functional departments within MEC as necessary
- Proactively develop and sell in profitable and strategic growth
opportunities that align with National and Regional Joint Business
Plans to Walmart Operations
- Collaborate with the National Sales Team and the Channel
Development Team to develop optimal sales strategies for Walmart
Operations designed to achieve and/or exceed business targets
- Develop and maintain solid routines with the National Sales
Team and the Channel Development team to ensure alignment and
execution on distribution, programs, and regional opportunities to
achieve Joint Business Planning objectives
- Secure commitment from Walmart RVP/Merchandising management to
support National, Regional and Local MEC programming
- Establish alignment with bottlers for MEC inclusion in
monthly/quarterly meetings with Walmart operations as needed
- Develop presentations that support bottler's selling efforts
with Walmart operations team as needed
- Communicate details including store counts and expectations of
execution for all National FSS activity
- Develop and manage fact-based sell sheets providing sales
solutions to support FSS Regional programming
- Connect weekly with MEC product supply team to stay informed on
production, and keep Walmart Directors/CDMs updated on any
potential shortfalls that would impact in-stock conditions
- Provide weekly updates on Walmart in-stocks to MEC field and
management teams. Develop action plans to address opportunities and
drive improvements
- Establish connectivity with Walmart Replenishment team to
develop and align on strategies to improve in-stocks and on-hand
inventories
- Identify regions/markets that are driving out of stocks and
work with all key stakeholders (MEC, Bottler, Walmart) to develop
on-hand inventory solutions to drive improvement
- Responsible for quantifying each potential new business
opportunity in respect to revenue and profitability
- Support Walmart Team Leader as needed on various projects and
tasks Position Requirements:
- Eight to ten years of progressive sales experience in a retail,
broker and/or distributor sales environment -
- Walmart sales and/or operational experience preferred
- Management experience of leading a cross-functional team in a
matrix organization
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in
Business, Marketing or Finance
- Demonstrated track record of sales management in exceeding
customer expectations
- Proven track record in leading sales staff to achieve and
exceed sales goals
- Understanding of the beverage industry and DSD
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to establish good relationships and credibility with
customers; ability to collaborate at all levels
- Excellent at managing time, priorities and expenses
- Able to work independently while being a team player
- Superior technical, analytical, and organizational skills
- Demonstrate the ability to synthesize data to accurately assess
situations and find actionable solutions
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and other technical
skills that are required
- Proficiency in data tools that measure and track business
performance
- Proficiency in data analysis, forecasting, business analytics,
and financial analysis
- Understand the long-term business and financial implications of
decisions made
- Understand and monitors budget controls on an ongoing
basis
- Experience with Nielsen/IRI, POS and Inventory reports
