Job Description:
Position Title: Permit Coordinator
Summary of Position:
As the Permit Coordinator, you will be responsible for representing
Core States Group and its clients with engaging with local
permitting authorities. You will provide information regarding
compliance to plans and specifications submittals with associated
regulatory authorities. You will work mostly independently and
support Engineers, Architects and/or Construction professionals in
performing key job elements.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Obtain documents from engineers and architects to facilitate
the permit application process
- Obtain all required approvals for permits and acts as liaison
between the company and each municipality
- Prepare and submit applications to various agencies/boards
having jurisdiction over required permits and/or approvals
- Review plans for correct revision dates and review start
packages for accuracy
- Prepare check requests and process invoice payment
documentation in coordination with the accounting
department
- Coordinate paperwork and applications with outside consultants
as necessary
- Submit, distribute and file paperwork and enter data for
various permits such as building, design review, standard plan,
plan changes, and amendment permits
- Maintain all company files relating to site plan applications,
approvals,licenses and permits
- Work closely with the municipalities on the status of permits
and ensure they are processed in a timely manner
- Produce and maintain schedules for all communities and
coordinate with municipalities from approval to final stages of
permitting process
- Prepare and maintain production status reports
- Schedule, attend and coordinate meetings, appointments, etc.,
with architects, engineers, city officials and various Core States
departments
- Prepare start packages, plans, specifications or documentation
for Construction Managers for new communities
- Monitor and create reports, correspondence and narratives
utilizing spreadsheets and word documents
- Coordinate with necessary departments for design review
submittals to all of the municipalities and HOA s for new
communities
- Handle all paperwork and file for permits for engineering,
architecture and construction projects
- Work with local governments/jurisdictions to submit and track
construction drawings and permit applications packages
- Visit local municipalities to obtain necessary
documentation
- Monitor each stage of the permit approval process
- Provide status updates to clients and internal
employees
- Demonstrate a familiarity with local codes and ordinances
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma preferred, additional education a
plus
- 5+ years of project coordinating/permit expediting experience
with an engineering, architecture or construction firm
Skills/Abilities
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and communication
skills in all areas
- Software: MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
