The Assistant Manager, Analytics -Sam's Club provides insights and actionable recommendations for inclusion in customer strategies and tactics by analyzing and evaluating factors that affect the 4 sales controllables (Distribution, Pricing, Shelving, and Promotion), in order to achieve sales objectives and maximize performance of specific brands/categories at retail. This role provides analytical insight into decision making processes, adding perspective and value to business planning in order to create a win-win strategy for the retailer and the brand. The assistant manager is responsible for either highly complicated categories or a variety of categories and typically supports the largest customers and/or a full channel of trade. The Assistant Manager Analytics will own's sales and profits for Bayer.

The primary responsibilities of this role, Assistant Manager, Analytics -Sam's Club, are to:
Management responsibility for selected brands/categories.

--- Break traditional patterns of thought by generating and recognizing imaginative, workable solutions to situations and problems;
--- Manages the development of annual national, channel or customer specific trade plans by brand/category, focusing on Bayer brand business goals and customer requirements;
--- Mines all data sources including consumer/shopper insights and syndicated data to provide insights and recommendations that help in the development of the four sales controllables - promotional, pricing, distribution, and shelving;
--- Collaborates with Field Sales and the Internal Bayer Organization to assist the Customer Team Lead in the areas of trade activation, customer response, and competitive intelligence;
--- Conducts competitive analysis and category/brand reviews to identify distribution, pricing, and promotional gaps and providing actionable account recommendations based on findings;
--- Develops opportunities to improve profit and gross sales volume based on analysis of base and promotional pricing, promotional events, spending, forecasting, sell-through and volume;
--- Responsible for the development of new item selling presentations for Customer Teams;
--- Responsible for promotional strategies and tactics;
--- Reviews sales performance, insights data, key initiatives, and new item launches with the customer to ensure robust plans are in place and being executed. Provides key learnings to the customer and tracks results against the annual joint business plan. May get strategically involved with Category Management initiatives;
--- Performs ad hoc analysis as requested by the customer or Customer Teams;
--- Where appropriate, forges a direct relationship with retailer contacts by providing relevant reports, insights, business status updates as part of their analytical output.

Required Qualifications:

--- Education: Knowledge equivalent to BS/BA degree (MBA desirable), economics or management concentration helpful, with a minimum of 3 years' of relevant analytical/business experience ideally within consumer package goods industry or equivalent combination of education and/or experience;

- Financial acumen: Excellent financial management skills to critically assess strategic goals and cost investments versus results; ability to streamline operational processes. Experience in a basic understanding of brand P&Ls, ROI, and budget management;
--- Understand the customer and the marketplace: Exceptional knowledge of retailer landscape and how to impact the total market. Understand the impact of individual decisions to Bayer's total business and relevant long term implications. Prior direct selling leadership experience with a top national retailer and sales strategy or sales operations experience required;
--- Communication/ active listening: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Adaptability to a diverse working environment with the ability to work successfully across the organization while being self-motivated;
--- Negotiation skills: Proven experience in influence management. Proven ability to develop win-win solutions to complex situations. Superior problem solving skills;
--- Tech/digital savvy: Robust analytical capabilities across a variety of data sources and platforms with ability to translate into action-minded recommendations;
--- Strong skills around sales data analysis and reporting; capable of producing and interpreting various reports and syndicated data; should include strong understanding of the various analytical resources (such as syndicated data, customer movement, sales tracking reports, etc);
--- Advanced computer literacy skill required, specifically MS Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in the application of marketing research information (IRI, Nielsen, and Custom) as related to sales controllables is a plus.
